'Hang Out' follows Okay Okay’s debut album Violent Necessity, released last year. Written back in January, the track unveils a fresh chapter for Okay Okay. Rooted in an acoustic melody strummed with a curt quickness and powered by a cutting drum arrangement, 'Hang Out' plays on much like a bittersweet change of season. As Giannella muses, 'Don’t look for me / I’m not ready to be what you need / What you need / Let me feed this hunger', his vocals oscillating between hushed reflection and a harder, expressive clarity, the feeling is elevated amongst willowy harmonies and the lustrous gleam of electric guitar. Despite maintaining a curious sense of ambiguity, 'Hang Out' feels like a more personal, expensive step for Okay Okay. -Kayla Sandiford
